Furano

joy in the turn

Spend a week, based in central Hokkaido, storm riding the best snow in Japan. Furano is a less known area compared to Niseko and the mainland zones of Nagano and Hakuba. With an average 9 meters (yes, over 29 feet!) of snowfall per season, there is plenty of powder snow. Additionally, Furano averages more sunny days than other zones of Hokkaido. This offers more opportunity for big backcountry touring days in the surrounding Yubari and Tokachi range.

Happiness in the art of travel

Beyond being a mecca for the best powder on earth, Hokkaido is revered for its cuisine. Fresh sushi and seafood, wagyu beef, local cheese and the regional classic “Furano Curry” top the list. Traditional Japanese breakfast is served daily and dinners are selected in order to experience the culinary diversity of the region. We will soak and savor nearby onsen hot springs, the perfect end to a day of riding deep powder snow.

walk on a path from sea to sky

Furano is centrally located on the island of Hokkaido. This provides easy access to several ski areas for “side-country” storm days as well as backcountry touring and big ski mountaineering objectives. Over the course of six days of guided skiing, prepare to enjoy everything from deep pow laps to backcountry skiing on the high peaks and volcanoes of the area.
