Backcountry Touring

Backcountry blue, Ophir

The rugged San Juan Mountains are a compact and steep range known for light powder, well spaced trees, mellow meadows, big faces and hidden couloirs. But, the snow pack is tricky and it's not easy to dial in the terrain and timing. Telluride Mountain Guides spend the winter tracking which lines are in and which lines are out. This local knowledge is an invaluable resource when your days in town are limited.
